The investigation into the accident during landing of Scat aircraft in Almaty airport has been completed, Tengrinews.kz reports citing press-service of Kazakhstan Ministry of Transport and Communications. “The investigation held after the aircraft’s careering outside the runway strip in Almaty airport found that this incident happened because the pilot-in-command exceeded the landing speed recommended for An-24RV aircraft and used the brakes untimely,” the message states. After the investigation the Civil Aviation Commission recommended Scat’s management to bring the airline’s employees accountable for flights safety to liability. In the worst case this can mean dismissal from office and downgrading of the pilot-in-command to the second pilot. The Ministry recommended all the airlines to inform their employees of the circumstances and causes of the accident that happened with the An-24RV to make sure they avoid similar situations in future. The An-24RV aircraft with the board number UP-AN41 performing a Taraz-Almaty flight landed on February 7 outside of the runway strip in Almaty airport, touching the ground outside the runway with its left back landing wheels.
