There were no Kazakhstan citizens on board of the Air Algerie plane that crashed in Mali on Thursday, Tengrinews reports citing Kazakhstan's Foreign Affairs Ministry.

The plane operated by Spanish Swiftair charter firm on behalf of Air Algerie airlines with 110 passengers and 6 crew members crashed in Mali less then an hour into its route from Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso to Algiers. Around 50 passengers were from France, others were from Burkina Faso, Lebanon, Algeria, Spain, Canada, Germany and Luxembourg. They all died in the crash. No one survived. Bad weather that forced the pilot to change the course is considered to be the most likely cause of the crash.

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed condolences to President of France Francois Hollande, President of Algeria Abdelaziz Bouteflika and to the people of France and Algeria who lost their loved ones in this crash, the presidential website reported.

The Air Algerie plane crash was the latest among international air disasters that took place the past two weeks. A Malaysia Airlines plane crashed in the self-proclaimed Donetsk National Republic on 17 July in the second half of the day killing 283 passengers and 15 crew members. Taiwanese TransAsia Airways passenger plane crashed after an aborted landing during stormy weather on July 24. 10 people survived the crash, but 48 were killed.
