Fire swept through 750 hectares of grassland in Western Kazakhstan
A massive fire swept through 750 hectares of grassland in West Kazakhstan oblast, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Kazakhstan Emergency Situations Ministry. According to the Ministry, the fire broke out in Pyatimarskiy rural district of Zhangalinskiy region at four sites: Zeynep-Kudyk (190 hectares), Karazhigit (195 hectares), Maskar (180 hectares) and Maskar 2 (185 hectares). It took almost 24 hours to extinguish the fire that broke out on June 13. Six fire fighters and two fire fighting vehicles of West Kazakhstan oblast's Emergency department and 20 firemen and two fire fighting vehicle of Pyatimarskiy rural district's Voluntary Firefighting Unit were engaged in the fire extinguishing. No casualties are reported.
