Tengrinews.kz - A special task force has been established to investigate a major traffic accident in Aktobe Region, where eight people, including five children, lost their lives.
"To thoroughly determine the circumstances of the accident that occurred today on the Samara-Shymkent road, a task force has been created on the instructions of the Aktobe Region akim," the regional administration’s press service stated.
The task force is led by deputy akim of the region, Zholdas Batyrkhan. Representatives of the task force have urgently arrived at the scene of the incident.
On Wednesday, August 7, a truck and a minivan collided at the 862nd kilometer of the Samara-Shymkent road in the Kharimtau District. The minivan, which contained eight people including three men and five children, crashed, resulting in all passengers and the driver being killed on the spot. Among the deceased were two brothers traveling with their father.
According to the police, the truck driver was uninjured and is currently providing testimony.
The children and their parents were on their way to Mangistau Region for a football tournament.
