Tengrinews.kz - An earthquake occurred at night, 262 kilometers from Almaty.

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a seismic network of the "National Scientific Center for Seismological Observations and Research" LLP registered the earthquake on November 4 at 4:31 a.m. Astana time.

"The earthquake's epicenter is located in China, 262 kilometers southeast of Almaty," the report says.

The tremors were not felt in Kazakhstan.

Previously, the Minister for Emergency Situations, Chyngyz Arynov, announced the creation of the southern "Alatau" base in Almaty to provide shelter in case of a devastating earthquake.
