Damage from fire at Mokhnatka mount evaluated

The damage caused by fire at Mokhnatka mount in August 2012 is estimated at 338 million tenge ($2.3 million), Director General of Ile-Alatau National Park Marlen Ainabekov told Tengrinews.kz.According to him, the total area damaged by the fire is 77.6 hectares. "The loss of wood is estimated at 58 million tenge ($388 thousand). The loss of young trees made 16 million tenge ($107 thousand)," he said.The fire at Mokhnatka mount in Medeu gorge started in the evening of August 22.
