Semei rescue groups helped a group of Chinese scientists out of snowy steppe, Tengrinews.kz reports citing press-service of East-Kazakhstan oblast Emergency Situations Department. The scientists arrived for scientific research from Almaty. A car with 6 people broke down on the road at night of March 15 in the middle of nowhere 90km from Semei. "The foreigners called their friends living in Semei. They drove Mercedes but unfortunately they could not reach the scientists, their car broke down as well. Only after that the scientists decided to call the rescue team," the press-service stated. The rescuers immediately advanced towards the approximate coordinates provided by the scientists. On the way they picked up the passenger and the driver of the Mercedes. "It was blizzarding and the temperature was -20 degrees centigrade. People got cold while waiting. We warmed them up, gave the blankets, checked them up. Nobody was injured of got frost-bitten," official of Semei Emergency Situations Department Dmitriy Alyabyev said. The scientists were transported to Semei in the morning of March 16.
