Residents of Atyrau, where two explosions happened on October 31, are concerned about the situation, Tengrinews.kz reports. According to a witnesses, at night of November 1, when the terrorist apprehension operation was held, law-enforcement authorities switched to robust security regime and stopped almost every car for a check-up. Currently the explosion locations are still cordoned. According to city residents, loud snaps were heard in several other regions at night, but the oblast Interior Department did not confirm the information about any more blasts. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that two explosions happened in Atyrau in the morning of October 31. The first blast was in the garbage can at Kulmanov street. Later an unknown man blew himself up in Saryarka region. Ten days before the blasts the residents of the neighboring buildings saw suspicious people next to the building. The terrorists apprehension operation was held in Atyrau at night of November 1. The details of the operations are unknown yet. Atyrau oblast administration considers the blasts were made by partners of arrested members of religious sects. According to deputy Akim (Governor) of Atyrau oblast Bolat Daukenov, blasts organizers were trying to threaten the residents.
