Tengrinews.kz - A 17-year-old teenager went missing in Stepnogorsk. After several days of searching, police officers found him in the mines, where he had been looking for gold the entire time, according to Polisia.kz.
The report about the missing teenager was submitted to the Stepnogorsk police department on September 16. His teachers raised the alarm after the boy had not attended school since September 13.
"Police officers immediately initiated necessary operational and search activities. The teenager's circle of acquaintances was identified, and his parents, close relatives, and friends were interviewed," police shared the details of the search.
Law enforcement officers discovered that the teenager was in the village of Bestobe and had descended to the lower levels of the mine.
"On September 17, the teenager was found and returned to his family. He explained that he had gone into the mines in search of gold. An administrative protocol was issued to the parents for failing to fulfill their parental responsibilities, and the teenager himself was held administratively accountable for illegally entering a protected object," reported the Police Department of the Akmola region.
Earlier, a foreign girl had gone missing in the ethno village during the World Nomad Games. Members of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs conducted a search and later returned her safely to her father.
