Akim (Governor) of Mangistau oblast Alik Aidarbayev has commented the firing of 81 professors of Yessenov Caspian State University of Technologies and Engineering in Aktau, Tumba writes. The briefing was held in the oblast administration headquarters on September 4. Aktau prosecutors will check into the actions of the commission that selected the teaching staff of the university and of the president of the university, Aidarbayev said. According to him, no professors will be fired or evicted from the dormitories before the check is made. The university’s president Adilbek Borabekov said that the decision of the selection commission was declared void. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that 81 out of the university's 370 professors were fired from Yessenov University. The university’s management believes that the professors failed to comply with the qualification requirements.
