Kazakhstan residents will be able to learn the Kazakh language by installing a new application on their Nokia mobile phone, Tengrinews.kz reports. Application called So to Speak was presented on September at Digital Communications Kazakhstan 2011 exhibition in Astana. “Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is participating in So to Speak project. The new application that helps learn foreign languages will appear in Nokia online-stores soon. In theory learning a language will take three months, so, theoretically, it will be possible to learn four languages in one year,” General Manager of Nokia in CIS southern countries Karel Golub said. The invention will consist of several language modules and exercises that can be downloaded to Nokia mobile phones or smartphones at an additional charge. According to Karel Golub, the application will offer modules with exercises in Kazakh. Modules with foreign languages will be available at Nokia online-store. Digital Communicatons Kazakhstan 2011 exhibition and conference was held in the Independence Palace in Astana on September 14-16. Companies dealing with cellular communications, telecommunications and IT-technologies participated in the event. Such companies as Google, HTC, Huawei Technologies, Sony Ericsson and Timwe were represented at the exhibition.
