Tengrinews.kz – The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan has announced a change in the date of the last school bell ceremony.
The academic year, which traditionally spans 34 weeks, is coming to an end. According to the ministry’s statistics, over 3.9 million students across the country will be wrapping up their school year.
For more than 217,000 11th graders, this marks a symbolic farewell to school life.
“As was the case last year, on the final school day — May 23 — all schools in the country will hold a unified classroom hour under the theme ‘My Knowledge – for My Homeland’. This important event for the entire education system provides an opportunity for students and teachers to reflect on their shared achievements, express gratitude to one another, and recall the most meaningful moments of the school year,” the ministry told the correspondent.
Since this year’s official last day of school falls on a Sunday, graduation celebrations for 11th graders will be held on May 23 or 24, depending on each school’s administration decision.
The Ministry of Education also reminded that, in order to ensure safety and equal conditions for all students, lavish celebrations, fundraising, car parades, and other forms of festivities outside the school format are not recommended.
