A Department of Kazakh Language may open in one of the leading Romanian universities, Tengrinews.kz reports citing press-service of Kazakhstan Ministry of Education and Science. This possibility was discussed at the meeting of Kazakhstan Education Minister Bakytzhan Zhumagulov with Romanian Minister of Education, Research, Youth and Sport Katalin Ovidiu Baba. Zhumagulov informed his Romanian counterpart of the work that is being done in Kazakhstan to open the Department of Romanian Language in Buketov Karaganda State University. The parties also discussed development of bilateral cooperation under the agreement between two ministries signed in 2008. Zhumagulov asked Baba, who chairs the Ministers’ Conference, to consider holding a conference of ministers of Bologna process member-countries in 2015 in Kazakhstan. “Education Ministers of two countries discussed boosting academic and research mobility, inviting Romanian professors and researchers to Kazakhstan, expansion of cooperation between Romanian and Kazakhstan universities,” the message states. Bakytzhan Zhumagulov is on a work visit to Romanian capital Bucharest, where the 3rd Conference of Ministers of Bologna Process Member-Countries is held from April 25 to 27.
