A tour to jails has been organized for at-risk teenagers in Aktau, Channel 31 reports.
“When I came here, I realized that I don’t want to be in this cell, so that everyone walks by and looks at me,” one of the young trouble-makers said. According to the police, such education methods are more effective than preventive talks. Police officers hope that the teenagers will remember the steel doors and prison bunk beds for a long time. They might not stop fighting and vandalizing, but they will know where they can end up.
25 under-aged criminals were apprehended in Aktau since the beginning of the year. They committed 9 crimes, including theft, robbery, vandalism and infliction of grave bodily injuries.
