Al-Farabi Kazakh National University is ranked the best university of Kazakhstan in 2011. Mukhtar Auezov South-Kazakhstan State University is the second, while Gumilyov Eurasian National University is ranked third, an Independent Kazakhstan Agency for Education Quality reports. Kazakh-British Technical University became the leader in the list of the best technical universities in Kazakhstan. It is followed by Satpayev Kazakh National Technical University, Karaganda State Technical University and Kazakhstan National Agricultural University. Kazakhstan President’s Academy of State Management is ranked the best humanitarian-economic university. Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economy and Strategic Research (KIMEP) is the second. The third place is shared by Karaganda Economic University of Kazpotrebsoyuz and Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University. As for medical education, Astana medical University is ranked the best in 2011. Karaganda State Medical University, which was the first in 2010, is the second this year. It shares its place with Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University. Kazakh State Women’s Pedagogical University is ranked the best for training teachers. Three universities share the second place: Aktobe State Pedagogical Institute, Kazakh Academy of Sport and Tourism and Pavlodar State Pedagogical Institute. Kurmangazy Kazakhstan National Conservatory is still the leading art school in Kazakhstan. However, this time the Conservatory is sharing the first place with Kazakh National University of Arts. They are followed by Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts.
