Tengrinews.kz – On November 6, schools in Astana will shorten lessons due to adverse weather conditions, the city’s Department of Education announced.

As strong winds of up to 30 meters per second are expected, students will be dismissed before nightfall.

“Starting from the second lesson of the afternoon shift, classes will be reduced to 30 minutes. Class teachers must inform parents that students will only be released under adult supervision,” the statement said.

For parents unable to pick up their children, schools will provide supervision until their arrival.

Sunset in Astana is expected at 4:37 p.m. today. Meteorologists forecast strong winds, rain, and snow for November 6. Further deteriorating weather, including blizzards and icy conditions, is expected on November 7, with temperatures dropping to -4°C to -6°C.
