Kazakhstan citizens will stop getting Bachelor degrees abroad under Bolashak program, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan President's official website.

Secretary of State Kanat Saudabayev held a meeting of the state Commission for Foreign Education.

“Thanks to the consistent policy of the President aimed at increasing the quality and level of Kazakhstan education and especially thanks to opening of the Nazarbayev University, Bolashak program will no longer offer an option of educating Bachelors abroad and will focus on Master's and PhD degrees. These are the instructions given by the President at the recent extended meeting of Kazakhstan Government,” presidential press-services cited the chairman of the commission.

Bolashak program development plan should be approved by 2015. “Demands for professionals under the key state-run development programs” will be defined.

“The commission defined the categories of people who have the right to apply for Bolashak presidential scholarship to study in the leading foreign universities to obtain Master's and PhD degrees and scientific internships. Besides, a list of priority professions was made for 2011,” Kazakhstan presidential press-service reported.
