9 Kazakhstan universities enter world ranking
9 Kazakhstan universities has been included in the list of 800 best universities of the world made by British Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Tengrinews reports.Almaty-based Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) is in the 299th line of the 2013 ranking. Astana-based Gumilyov Eurasian National University (ENU) is in the 303th place in the QS ranking.Almaty-based Kazakh-British Technical University (KBTU) and Shymkent-based South Kazakhstan State University (SKSU) are between the 651the and the 700th positions.Karaganda-based Buketov Karaganda State University, Almaty-based Ablai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages, Almaty-based Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, Almaty-based Satpayev Kazakh National Technical University, Astana-based Seifullin Kazakh Agro-Technical University are rated after the 700th position.According to Kazakhstan Today news agency, this is the first time a Kazakhstan university enters the Top 300 best universities of the world. American Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) is leading the QS ranking, then goes American Harvard University and British University of Cambridge.Six distinctive indicators were used to make the selection: academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty/student ratio, citations per faculty, international faculty and international students.QS Quacquarelli Symonds was founded in 1990 and has established itself as the leading global provider of specialist higher education and careers information and solutions.
