81 professors have been fired in Yessenov Caspian State University of Technologies and Engineering, Lada writes. According to the University, the professors failed to comply with its qualification requirements. But the fired professors disagree that insufficient qualification is the real reason of the mass firings. According to them, some of the fired professors will lose their housing after losing the job. The website writes that the professors were fired on August 31 but are still continuing their classes. They are sorry about the students who would be left without teachers and knowledge, they say. Meanwhile, the university’s president said that no final decision had been made on the professors. He promised to personally check their qualification information, Lada writes. A similar case happened in 2010 in KIMEP university when 24 professors were fired allegedly because of the economic crisis. Some of the fired professors filed lawsuits against the university and some of them won their cases.
