Tengrinews.kz - The Vice-Minister of Industry and Construction Kuandyk Kazhkenov was asked if housing prices in Kazakhstan will change due to the rise of the dollar.
According to the vice-minister, there is no observed increase in housing prices as of October 17.
"I will repeat: our ministry, together with ‘Otbasy Bank’, has analyzed the market prices. As of October 17, there is no observed increase in costs," said Kazhkenov.
Journalists also inquired about housing price forecasts in the near future.
"Let’s wait and see. It depends on construction pricing. It's hard to make predictions since it’s a market indicator that also depends on supply and demand," Kazhkenov answered.
As of October 16, the weighted average exchange rate of the dollar on KASE was 488.93 tenge, an increase of 1.43 tenge.
The minister of National Economy discussed the possibility of the dollar exchange rate rising to 600 tenge.
