Tengrinews.kz - The price of Bitcoin hit a historic high for the third time in a day, surpassing the $106,000 mark, according to Kommersant.
On Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange by trading volume, Bitcoin, as of 5:40 AM Astana time, had increased by 4.61 percent over the day, reaching $106,440.
Earlier on Monday morning, the virtual currency crossed the $104,000 mark, just shy of $105,000.
According to CoinMarketCap, which tracks the average price of the virtual currency across more than 20 exchanges, the price of Bitcoin increased by 4.34 percent, reaching $105,800. The data reflects the 24-hour price change.
As noted by AFP, the rise in the cryptocurrency's value is driven by expectations that U.S. President-elect Donald Trump will promote measures aimed at simplifying Bitcoin regulation.
