The water has been pumped out from the flooded houses in Kostangeldy region of Zhezkazgan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Karaganda oblast administration. The city department of energy and public utilities, divisions of Kazakhmys Corporation and other organizations were working on cleaning the irrigation channel off the garbage. The works involve 11 vehicles (2 excavators, 7 dump trucks and 2 forklifts). 32 houses in Kostangeldy microregion in Zhezkazgan were flooded on September 29. The accident claimed lives of 39-y.o. woman and 5-y.o. child. Their bodies were discovered in a garage. Electric shock is believed to bbe the cause of their deaths. According to the Emergency Situations Department, 55 people were evacuated and 7 were saved from the flood. A crisis center was opened at the accident site. Zhezkazgan administration took emergency measures to render aide to the residents of the flooded houses. Temporary housing, medical services and hot food were arranged.
