Tengrinews.kz - A powerful earthquake has occurred in Turkey.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6 struck at 10:46 a.m. local time, 44 kilometers east of the city of Malatya. The epicenter was located at a depth of approximately ten kilometers. There have been no reports of casualties or damage so far.
Following the earthquake, seismologists recorded over 20 aftershocks.

According to the Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency of Turkey (AFAD), the magnitude was 5.9. Local media report that the tremors were felt in the provinces of Malatya, Diyarbakir, and Elazig.

Turkish Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya stated on social media platform X that experts have begun assessing the damage.
