Kazakh family of three dies in French Alps plane crash

Three nationals of Kazakhstan were on board the Germanswings plane that crashed en route from Barcelona to Dusseldorf. They were members of the same family, Tengrinews correspondent reports.

Three nationals of Kazakhstan were on board the Germanswings plane that crashed en route from Barcelona to Dusseldorf. They were members of the same family, Tengrinews correspondent reports.

The plane crash occurred near the French Alps. According to the carrier, controllers lost contact with the aircraft crew at 10:53 local time at a height of about 1.8 thousand meters. There were 150 people on broad, no one survived the crash.

According NV.kz, Yerbol Imankulov, one of the Kazakh citizens on that plane, was the director of Tau-Ken Temir company that manages the Karaganda plant for the production of silicon metal. His wife Aizhan Isengaliyeva and son Adil Imankulov were also on the plane. Imankulov was 50 years old, his wife Aizhan Isengaliyeva - 49 years old, and their son Adil Imankulov was 26.

Oleg Bryjak, a world famous opera singer born in Kazakhstan, was also among the passengers of the unfortunate plane. He graduated from a music school in Karaganda city of Kazakhstan, and then entered the Conservatory of Almaty, also in Kazakhstan. In 1991 he went to Germany and became a soloist with the Deutsche Oper in Dusseldorf in 1996.

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev expressed his condolences to the family and relatives of Kazakhstani citizens killed in the plane crash. He gave instructions to the relevant governmental authorities of Kazakhstan to provide all the necessary assistance to the relatives of the victims, including assistance in identification of the remains and delivery of the bodies to Kazakhstan.

Nazarbayev also expressed his condolences to German Chancellor Angela Merkel and King of Spain Felipe VI, whose countries the majority of the victims were from.
