KazHydroMet, Kazakhstan national weather service, has issued a high wind warning for six Kazakhstan Oblasts for December 18-19, Tengrinews reports. A cold front is moving across western and northern Kazakhstan to central Kazakhstan. On December 18 Kostanay and Aktobe Oblasts and later on December 19 Akmola, Karaganda, Pavlodar and North Kazakhstan Oblasts are going to experience snow, blizzard and high wind of up to 17-22 m/s (61-79 km/h) with gusts of up to 30 m/s (108 km/h). According to KazHydroMet, the weather in Kazakhstan is going to be unstable throughout December 18 and 19 with a high probability of precipitation, strong wind, ice-crusted ground and fog. Winter storms, high winds of up to 15-20 m/s (54-72 km/h) are expected in Akmola, North Kazakhstan, Pavlodar, Karaganda, Aktobe, West Kazakhstan, Atyrau and Kyzyrorda Oblasts. There will be fog and wind of up to intensify up to 15-20 m/s (54-72 km/h) in Kostanay and South Kazakhstan Oblasts. As for Almaty and Zhambyl Obslasts, there will be patchy fog and black ice. The wind will intensify to 15-20 m/s (54-72 km/h) in Zhambyl Oblast as well.
