Tengrinews.kz – The number of Kazakhstani tourists currently in Thailand has been revealed.
According to the "Turistik Kamkor" fund, approximately 4,500 Kazakhstani tourists who traveled on organized tours are presently in Thailand. The organization also emphasized that there are no Kazakhstani tourists in the capital, Bangkok.
"Based on available information, we have no tourists in Bangkok. Currently, around 4,500 Kazakhstani tourists are in the country, all of whom traveled on organized tours. I believe there is no need for concern, as these tourists are constantly monitored by the companies that arranged their trips," the fund stated.
Local guides are also providing support by informing tourists about safety measures.
"Thai guides are accompanying them and explaining the safety protocols that must be followed. If necessary, they will seek assistance from either the fund or the tour operators," the organization added.
Despite the tense situation, no Kazakhstani tourists have requested assistance, and there have been no requests to postpone or cancel tours.
"No one has contacted us for help, and no requests to cancel or postpone trips have been received. However, we must keep in mind that if the situation worsens, tour operators will suspend sales and stop flights if the safety of our tourists is at risk," the fund emphasized.
Tour operators responsible for these trips are closely monitoring the situation and providing necessary assistance to tourists.
"It is important to highlight that tour operators who organize tours to Thailand are carefully tracking the situation. They are monitoring conditions both at the resorts and across the country while providing tourists with the necessary information," the fund reported.
As previously reported, the earthquake's epicenter was located in neighboring Myanmar. The tremors in Thailand’s capital were so strong that water spilled from rooftop pools, and a high-rise under construction collapsed.
There is currently no official information on casualties. In Bangkok, metro and other public transport services have been suspended, and people are being advised to seek shelter.
Meanwhile, reports indicate that a second earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 has struck Myanmar.
