Several cars with drivers inside were hit by fallen trees in today's hail strong storm in Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Almaty rescue service. Casualties are being defined.

“A lot of trees fell down in the city. An emergency team is being gathered for eliminated the consequences. We don't know for sure how many people were injured. ER was called in many areas, our guys were taking out people; a lot of dogs got jummed under falen trees, too. So, we don't have any details yet,” the Unified Dispatcher Service told Tengrinews.kz. According to the Service, the access to Medeu high-mountain sports complex is limited because of fallen trees.

Almaty Emergency Situations Department reported that the storm knocked down seven trees. No casualties were reported but three cars are damaged.

Besides, the Department said that the wind was so strong that it damaged roofs of five houses, including one building of Alatau resort.

The rescue service reported that the trolley stopped at the wire-rope way from Medeu skating rink to Shymbulak skiing complex. The trolley has a 12-year-old boy inside. Rescue works are currently in process.

Witnesses say that several billboards fell down close to Mega mall at Rozybakiyev street. Emergency Situations Department does not confirm this information.
