The shocks were registered on April 30 at 12:55 a.m. Astana time. The quake’s epicenter was located 72km from Shymkent. No casualties were reported. The quake in South Kazakhstan was followed by 4.7-magnitude earthquake in Almaty oblast. The shocks were registered on April 30 at 03:01 p.m. Astana time. The quake's epicenter was 236km east of Almaty. No casualties were reported.
