4.3-magnitude earthquake hit south Kazakhstan on January 6, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Center for Collection and Processing of seismic information of the Institute of Geophysical Research of the National Nuclear Center. The quake was felt at 3:16 p.m. Astana time. According to European Seismological Center, the quake’s epicenter was 149 km from Shymkent and 91 km from Arys. No casualties have been reported.
