3.6-magnitude earthquake hit 90km from Almaty

A 3.6-magnitude earthquake hit Almaty oblast, Tengrinews.kz report citing a seismologic research expedition of the Science Commission of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Education and Science. The shocks were registered at 10:00 a.m. (Astana time) on January 3 at the territory of Enbekshikazakh region. The quake's epicenter was at the depth of 10km 90km east of Almaty. No casualties were reported. On December 30 an earthquake with magnitude of 4.1 hit 400km from Almaty. The shocks were registered at the territory of China. The epicenter was 1km deep 149km south of At-Bashi (Kyrgyzstan) and 77km north-west of Kashi (China).
