30 yards in Boltirik Sheshen village of Zhambyl oblast have been flooded by melt water, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Emergency Situations Ministry. 153 people, including 73 children, have been evacuated from the flooded houses. They have been relocated to their relatives. "On March 5, 2012 the Ministry received a message that several houses in Boltirik Sheshen village of Zhambyl oblast were flooded by melt water from the channel next to the village. Head of Talas region Emergency Situations Department, a rescue team of Zhambyl oblast Emergency Situations Department and representatives of Talas region's administration were sent to the accident site," the Ministry's message states. Measures to divert the water away from the village's streets are being taken. Meanwhile, the works to eliminate the flood's consequences are continued in other regions of Kazakhstan. In particular, 481 people, 127 vehicles, 19 units of floating equipment and 1 helicopter are involved in elimination of the flood consequences in South-Kazakhstan oblast. Works on elimination of flood consequences have been completed at 15 sites in Zhanaozen, Mangistau oblast.
