1,100 people have been evacuated from flooded Sozak village of South-Kazakhstan oblast, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Emergency Situations Ministry. According to the authority, around 30 houses and 50 facilities were flooded. Exacuated people are placed at their relatives. Water is being also pumped out of flooded streets and yards in the southern city of Shymkent. Protection dikes have been set in Babaikorgan, Abai and Ulgili villages in Turkestan area. Ditches and channels are being cleaned in Kazata and Shakpak villages to improve the water flow. Flood-preventive works are under way in Sozak region. Sholakkorgan village's dam has been extended by 2 meters. 1,147 people, 222 vehicles and 21 flotation devices are involved in elimination of the emergency situation.
