Three men attacked a U.S. citizen near Mega Mall in Almaty. As a result of the attack the foreigner received light injuries and lost 40 thousand tenge ($270) and a mobile phone, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Almaty Interior Department. According to the Department, that day the U.S. citizen and his friends were meeting in a café near the mall. After the meeting was over, the foreigner went to catch a taxi on Rozybakiyev street where he was attacked by three men. Hitting him on the fact and striking him down to the ground, the violators took his mobile phone and 40 thousand tenge. Police officers managed to find the suspects within 2 days; all of them came to Almaty from other regions of Kazakhstan. “The criminal case was initiated for Robbery. The investigation is in process. The punishment will be defined by the court, but they will be punished for sure,” the Interior Department’s press-service said adding that the American citizen thanked the law-enforcement authorities for quick apprehension of the criminals. In another recent crime against foreigners unknown persons committed an armed assault on two Russian citizens driving Toyota FJ Cruiser. During the assault the criminals stole 3 million rubles ($99 thousand) from the car.
