Kazakhstani student Azamat Tazhayakov who is accused of removing items from Dzhokhar Tsarnayev’s room appeared before the court on Monday, June 23, Tengrinews reports citing RIA Novosti.

According to the news agency, the US court offered Tazhayakov to admit his guilt in exchange for a reduced sentence. However, Azamat’s lawyer Matthew Myer turned the offered down because he was sure that Tazhayakov would be acquitted in the end.

If they are found guilty they will be sentenced to up to 25 years of imprisonment. Their friend 19 y.o.
