Tazhayakov’s lawyer Matthew Myers said that he had "minor discussions’’ with US Attorney Carmen Ortiz’s office concerning Tsarnaev’s hearing scheduled to the beginning of the next year. They have not reached any agreement on Tazhayakov’s participation in the trial yet.
Azamat Tazhayakov, 20, is charged with obstructing justice in the Boston bombings case. The jury found Tazhayakov guilty. As a result, Tazhayakov is facing up to 20 years in prison.
Myers did no specify what kind of information Tazhayakov intended to share in the courtroom. Meanwhile, Tazhayakov’s sentence is due November 19. The lawyer noted that if his client testifies against Tsarnaev, his sentence may be postponed.
