The video, which was posted on Instagram, shows the victim being slapped in the face and kicked by other students.
According to the post, the incident took place at School-Gymnasium No. 83 in Astana. The group of about 15 teenagers is allegedly involved in regular bullying and physical abuse of other students.
The police department of the Almaty district in Astana has reported that all the participants in the incident, who are 9th-grade students, have been identified.
"The students were interviewed in the presence of their parents, and the circumstances of the incident are being clarified. Based on the findings, a legal assessment of the students' actions will be made," the statement said.
Under the new law on ensuring women's rights and child safety, which came into effect in June this year, Article 127-2 "Bullying (cyberbullying) of a minor" has been introduced in the Code of Administrative Offenses. Previously, such offenses were not punishable in Kazakhstan.
