Tengrinews.kz - A Kazakhstani man suspected of committing a robbery has been extradited from Russia, according to a statement from the Prosecutor General's Office.
The suspect was extradited to face criminal charges for a robbery committed by a group of individuals in collusion, involving significant amounts.
"In 2015, the suspect conspired with his acquaintances to commit a robbery at a restaurant in Shakhtinsk, Karaganda region. As a result of their criminal actions, the owner of the establishment suffered material damage exceeding 46 million tenge. The accomplices of the suspect have already been sentenced to various penalties, while the main suspect fled after committing the crime and was placed on an international wanted list," the Prosecutor General's Office reported.
In May 2024, the Kazakhstani man was detained in the Rostov region and extradited to Kazakhstan at the request of the General Prosecutor's Office.
"The suspect is currently held in a detention center. The crime he is accused of carries a penalty of imprisonment for a term of ten to fifteen years, along with the confiscation of property," noted the Prosecutor General's Office.
