National Security Commission's building shot in Almaty oblast

The building of the National Security Commission in Almaty oblast has been shot at, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the regional prosecutor’s office. According to the preliminary information, the shooter was using a rifle. A source close to the investigation says that two shells of a 12-bore smoothbore rifle have been found near the building. A nearby video surveillance camera recorded a silhouette of a man supposedly wearing a camouflage-colored clothes. The shots insignificantly damaged the wall and the metal door of the building. No human casualties are reported. A man who allegedly shot at the building of the National Security Commission was apprehended by the police shortly after the incident. The 31-y.o. suspect is being interrogated in the Interior Department. He is previously unconvicted. He has confessed of making two shots from a hunting rifle. That was an act of vandalism committed in a state of alcoholic intoxication, he says. A criminal case has been initiated and the investigation is underway. According to the source in Almaty oblast Interior Department, deputy head of the Department has left for the accident site. On November 12, 2011 a jihadist made one shot from an RPG-26 grenade launcher and then short an automatic rifle at the building of the National Security Department in Taraz. The criminal also participated in several attacks on the officers of law-enforcement authorities. The terrorist attack claimed lives of two National Security Commission’s officer, three police officers and two civilians. The terrorist died in a self-explosion. A criminal case was initiated against him for terrorism and murder.
