The militant apprehended in Chechnya is not a citizen of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Interior Ministry of Chechnya cleared the situation by replying to the request of Kazakhstan diplomats.“As per the request of Kazakhstan consular service in Russia, Ministry of Internal Affairs of Chechnya replied on the citizenship status of apprehended Ruslan Muskayev, born 10.07.1974. According to the official information of the Interior Minister of Chechnya, Muskayev is a citizen of Russia and does not have Kazakhstan citizenship,” official representative of Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry said. Ruslan Muskayev’s origin is not mentioned in the message.Earlier

Tengrinews.kz English reported that the militant was a citizen of Pavlodar oblast .Muskayev’s pre-trial restrictions includes recognisance not to leave, Foreign Ministry stated.
