Tengrinews.kz - The Interdistrict Civil Court of Astana has reviewed the case filed by Aitbek Amangeldy seeking compensation from Kuandyk Bishimbayev for material damages and moral harm.
The claims are based on a legally binding guilty verdict in which the defendant was found guilty of murdering the plaintiff's sister.
The brother stated that he experienced moral suffering, deterioration of health, and loss of productivity as a result of the tragic event.
The parents of the deceased declined to seek compensation in favor of the plaintiff.
The lawsuit also included expenses incurred for legal services related to the criminal case.
"Considering the principles of reasonableness and fairness, and acknowledging that the death of a close relative undoubtedly had a negative impact on the moral state of the plaintiff and violated his personal non-property rights, the court partially satisfied the claim," the court's press service stated.
The court ordered the defendant to pay expenses related to the criminal case amounting to 6,877,672 tenge, along with 10 million tenge in compensation for moral harm.
The court's decision has not yet come into force.
