Tengrinews.kz - On August 22, a large batch of counterfeit goods seized from local businesses was destroyed in Astana. The items included 75 boxes of chocolates, 15 pairs of headphones, 34 iPhone adapters, phone cases, and 34 packs of latex dental trays. The goods were incinerated in a special furnace located in the city's industrial zone.
The counterfeit products were discovered during unscheduled inspections by the Justice Department. The seized items were either crudely manufactured knock-offs or illegally imported.
Among the fakes were mobile accessories labeled with Apple, iPhone, and Lightning branding, as well as chocolates branded as Raffaello and various dental products.
Due to unknown production conditions and potential health risks, such products cannot be donated to those in need or to orphanages.
"A total of 251 items were confiscated, with an estimated value of 854,000 tenge," said Assel Sibagatova, Head of the Intellectual Property Rights Department of Astana's Justice Department.
All seized goods were sealed and destroyed in the presence of government officials.
