The collision took place early in the morning near the village of Donskoy in the Khromtau district, involving a Lada Largus and a Volvo truck. Two people, including the driver and a passenger of the Lada Largus, were pronounced dead at the scene.
"On August 10, around 6:00 AM, a traffic accident occurred on the Samara-Shymkent highway near Donskoy village involving a Lada Largus and a Volvo truck. The driver and one passenger of the Lada Largus died at the scene. The Aktobe regional police department has launched a pre-trial investigation and all necessary examinations have been appointed," stated the Aktobe regional police press service.
Three individuals who were injured in the accident were taken to the hospital. Medical staff provided an update on their condition.
"The emergency medical team arrived at the scene at 5:58 AM. Two of the injured were pronounced dead before the ambulance arrived due to injuries incompatible with life. Three patients with bruises were transported to the hospital in Khromtau, examined by the on-duty surgeon, and were given recommendations for outpatient treatment. Two participants in the accident refused examination," reported the Aktobe regional health department.

This marks the third fatal accident on this section of the Samara-Shymkent international highway in the past week. On August 7, a minivan collided with a truck, resulting in the deaths of all eight occupants, including five children and three men. They were traveling to a private football tournament in Mangystau region. The truck driver, a Belarusian citizen, has been detained, and his arrest has been sanctioned by the court. Preliminary reports indicate he veered into the oncoming lane.
Later on the same day, another collision occurred on the Samara-Shymkent highway near the village of Bekkul Baba. A Toyota Ipsum and a truck were involved, resulting in the deaths of the driver and a passenger. A woman and two children from the vehicle were hospitalized with severe injuries.
