Linda Mayotte accused of raping a minor teen adopted from Kazakhstan testified that he was choking her when she refused to submit to his sexual demands, Worcester Telegram & Gazette writes. The U.S. couple of Linda Mayotte, 49, and Joseph Mayotte, 50, faces at least 10 years in jail for raping the children adopted from Kazakhstan if their guilt is proved. Mrs. Mayotte testified that the sexual contacts against her will lasted for two years starting in 2005. Earlier the adopted son, who is now 21, testified that the woman was the initiator of the relations. “He wanted to control me. He wanted me,” Mrs. Mayotte said. “He was the aggressor. I was not the initiator.” She explained that back then the 13-y.o. teenager demonstrated violent behavior and threatened to tell the police she raped him if she did not comply with his demands. At first she tried to fight the boy off but he punched her and grabbed her the throat. According to her, she was scared that is the story becomes known it would ruin her family. “Eventually, I stopped saying no,” she said. “Why bother? It didn't do me any good.” According to her, the raping lasted until spring 2007 when she got pregnant. The DNA test has confirmed that the teenager was her child’s father. She was first charged with raping the adopted son in 2009. She accused him of stealing jewelry at the same time. “I brought this person into my home, and I tried to show him love and decency, and just because somebody does things to you, you still want to love them,” Linda Mayotte said. Joseph Mayotte, 50, and his wife Linda Mayotte, 49, are on trial on 26 charges each, including statutory rape of a child, indecent assault, battery on a child under 14 and incest. The now 17-y.o. girl testified against her adoptive father. She told the juries that the father started sleeping in the same bed with her when she was 8, just one month after she was adopted. According to the alleged victim, several months later Joseph started touching her inappropriately. Later the father proceeded to other forms of sexual activities with her, despite of her resistance. The day before her brother testified that Linda Mayotte sexually abused him from 2005 to 2007.
