A British fined for debauch in Astana airport

Astana court announced its ruling on the case against the British citizen who made a debauch in the airport of the capital in late June 2011. The man was fined 2 000 dollars, Tengrinews.kz reports referring to the press office of the municipal court. Briggs Paul Spencer was found guilty of using force against authorities. A penalty of 302 400 tenge (around $200) was set by the court,” the press service of the municipal court reports. Briggs Paul Spencer was drunk and after he demonstrated random violence he was apprehended by the airport’s security personnel and taken to the police room of the International Airport of Astana. After he had the handcuffs removed, he attacked police senor sergeant D. Kamenov in the face with his left fist,” the press service clarifies. The incident took place in the end of June 2011. The foreigner was waiting to board his flight from Astana to Almaty. The police say that while waiting he hit one of the passengers without any particular reason, and later hit a member of the airport’s security staff.
