2,000 tenge notes counterfeiters rounded in Pavlodar

Production of false 2,000-tenge notes has been eliminated in Pavlodar, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the oblast's department for countering economic and corruption crimes. A Pavlodar citizen was apprehended in suspicion of running an underground shop for production and sales of counterfeit notes. The suspect was producing false 2,000-tenge notes with the use of office appliances. “Financial police officers have apprehended a Pavlodar citizen who was producing and selling counterfeit money. He had several accomplices that are being identified,” press-secretary of the oblast financial police Samal Akhmedyanova said. The officers tracked the criminal after buying counterfeit 2,000-tenge notes of his making. A criminal case was initiated and the suspect was arrested under the court’s sanction. “Investigation is currently in process to identify the routs he was using to sell his notes and the possible accomplices of the crimes. No further information can be disclosed for the investigation purposes,” Akhmedyanova said.
