The results of the new professional Kaznet award called Namys Doda were announced, acting President of Kazakhstan Internet Association Shavkat Sabirov told Tengrinews.kz. The award was initiated by the organization. The jury rated not only the best websites and Internet-events of 2011, but also most influential persons of Kaznet. At the first stage of the contest the jury selected the candidates and the finalists. At the second stage they defined the winners. If a winner received over 50 percent of the votes at the first stage, it automatically received the Grand-Prix. Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Karim Massimov’s website received a Grand-Prix in the State Authority’s Website category. Detki.kz received the award in the Family Websites category. Visit Kazakhstan project received the award in Tourist Website of the Year category. The experts tagged Facebook the best social network. Proza.kz became The Best Literature Website of the Year. Tengrinews.kz received Grand-Prix in Information Website of the Year category. During the contest the experts had an option of vote not only for certain participants, but also “against all”. This option was used by all jury members at the final stage of Video of the Year nomination. According to Sabirov, the intrigue of the contest remained up until its completion, as the juries were allowed to change their preferences towards participants at all stages of the contest. Disappointment of the Year category was introduced into the contest this year. Kaznet logo and the campaign to select it won this ‘award’.
