Singapore company JURONG will manage special economic zones in Ayrau and Taraz, Tengrinews.kz reports citing head of the United Chemical Company Dauren Yerdebai. “There is an agreement that JURONG will take part in managing Taraz and Atyrau Oil Chemical Park special economic zones. Our purpose is to attract best international practices and procesudes in management of the facilities. In our view, JURONG company is a world’s leader, that’s why we have agreed that they will work in Kazakhstan,” Yerdebai told the journalists during the meeting with representatives of the Singapore company. According to him, the first contract was signed in December 2012. The company has already completed the master plan for Taraz special economic zone. The master plan for Atyrau Oil Chemical Park is expected to be ready by October. “The company’s experts will be appointed to executive positions to deal with infrastructure projects and attraction of investors. The company is very popular; they have implemented 140 projects around the world and have a big list of clients. We took big efforts to attract them,” Yerdebai said. He said that funding of projects for Taraz economic zone makes around $500 million and there were two confirmed projects worth $2.5 billion for Atyrau special economic zone. United Chemical Company was established as part of Samruk-Kazyna holding in 2009. The company operates as the joint investment operator in chemical sector and has a portfolio of 8 industrial chemical projects. By Baubek Konyrov
