Over one half of Kazakhstan companies are not expecting the second wave of the economic crisis, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Antal Kazakhstan recruitment agency. According to the poll, 53 percent of companies operating in Kazakhstan are sure that the economic recession of 2008 will not repeat itself. Meanwhile, at least 14 percent of the respondents said that they are concerned about the new crisis and are preparing for it. “Their main preventive measures include a stricter control over expenses, optimization of organization structure of the company, selection of professionals required in the crisis period, diversification of business, as well as setting competitive prices and improving service quality to attract and keep the clients,” the recruitment agency's message states. One third of the respondents (33 percent) said that they are expecting a new wave of economic crisis, but their company does not take any measures to prepare. According to Director General of Antal Kazakhstan Natalya Kurkchi, the companies are positive in general and the majority of companies that expect economic crisis, are not taking any measures to update the strategies they have had during the last crisis. "Demand for highly qualified managers remains high even in the companies that forecast the “second wave”. This is justified by the fact that they are counting on effective and professional management that will help the companies develop correct approaches to any situation in the market and get out of it without much losses,” Natalya Kurkchi said.
