A recent prosecutors check in Kyzylorda has unearthed a huge difference in the salaries of local and foreign employees, 24.kz reports. The expats are paid 14-times more than locals and cases of discrimination of Kazakhstan citizens in terms of labor conditions were detected almost in all 15 major companies working in the region. “In KAM company local a employee earns around 175 thousand tenge ($1,200), while a foreign expert in the same position receives 1.8 million tenge ($12 thousand),” head of Kyzylorda oblast Control and Social Protection Department Nurlybek Zholdasbayev said. The employers who have violated the labor legislation will now have to eliminate the salaries disproportion. Otherwise they will be brought to liability in court.
