Air Astana has presented its own Airbus and new outfits for its staff, Tengrinews.kz reports. “We have been waiting for rebranding of our air company’s staff for a long time. New outfits will not only be a new brand and a new look of the company’s employees. You know that the employees service international flights and are not only the face of the company, but the one of the country as well. I hope and believe that the new uniform made of modern materials will become Kazakhstan’s brand,” Kazakhstan Vice-Minister of Transport and Communications Azat Bekturov said. The national air company introduced new uniforms for flight attendants and ground staff. The uniform features elements of the national design and ornaments. The company also presented its new own Airbus A321 aircraft. “We have placed an order for 6 planes. The first one has already arrived and we are expecting the second one tomorrow. The third plant will be delivered next week. The forth will arrive next May, the fifth one in July and the sixth one in November 2013. Their cost is $500 million, but the price the company pays is different and cannot be disclosed, which is a standard practice,” President of Air Astana Peter Foster said. According to him, the purchase was organized independently, without any funding from the state budget or any state guarantees. He also added that procurement of the new planes would not affect the air fares. Three aircrafts will be named after famous Kazakhstan women: the People’s Artist of USSR Kulyash Baisseitova and Soviet Union war heroes of Kazakh origin Aliya Moldagulova and Manshuk Mametova. “The aircrafts are of the new generation, they are very comfortable and fuel efficient. The new planes will fly along the existing routes: to Russia, Turkey, the UAE, EU, China and other countries,” Foster said.
